mobile mammography program
The Partnership for Breast Care at Hartford Hospital has instituted a new mobile mammography program. The goal is to reach women who are not going for yearly mammograms. Many of these women are underserved, but many are just fearful and put off making the appointment. The mobile Unit can be brought into almost any site so mammograms can be provided right in your community. Each screening takes approximately 15 minutes, and is an important service you can offer to promote early detection of breast cancer.
On-site services provided:
• Screening mammograms • Breast health education • Educational materials
Results:
• Each mammogram is read by a mammography certified radiologist at HH and
analyzed using Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD).
• Mammogram films are stored at HH.
Follow-up:
• Women who require further testing will be notified by telephone from HH within two business days.
• HH radiologists send mammography reports to participants? listed physicians within 7 days.
• HH sends recommendations to each participant via mail within 14 days.
• Participants with questions regarding their reports are asked to check with their personal physicians
or the Partnership for Breast Care.
